Little publicity is given to the Sri Lanka Navy's amazing rescue operation. I know that one of the escape routes of the Tamil civilians was to move towards the open sea - from various points. When the LTTE got to know these points of exit, they closed it off with increasing the LTTE sentry points and by tightening the Sea Tiger sentry points along Palamatalan and other areas. But I know that Tamil civilians continued to find new routes to reach the safety of the Sri Lanka Navy. Where can I find the total number of boats that reached the Sri Lanka Navy and Tamils rescued by the Sri Lanka Navy - as a chronology or indeed by area. Naval personnel will be blessed for the sacrifices made to end brutal grip of the Tamil tiger terrorism on the country, and for the compassion with which you rescued the Tamil people. The rescued civilians will never forget the compassion extended. Sheryl.
