On receiving a call from the cruise ship Explorer of The Sea on April 26, US Coast Guard successfully medevaced 83 year-old female passenger suffering from internal bleeding. The medevac took place 245 miles east of Elizabeth City, North Carolina. An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter and a C-130 Hercules airplane from Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City, N.C., carried out the task.
