U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has developed an online, real time, user-friendly map to provide water data. This service by the USGS helps National Weather Service (NWS) in making accurate and timely flood forecasts. USGS has been monitoring flow in selected streams and rivers across the U.S. for more than 125 years. Data from more than 7,400 streamgages, collected by USGS provide real-time data in 15-minute increments. The data from real time sites are transmitted to USGS offices via satellite, telephone, and/or radio and are available for immediate viewing.
Here is real time streamflow map for April 18, 2008.
