
Fire onboard NNS Ambe, was successfully extinguished by the alert Nigerian Naval Dockyard.
Nigerian Naval Dockyard at Wilmot Point, Lagos was commissioned in 1990 and is undertaking refit of Nigerian Naval Ships. NNS Ambe, a landing craft commissioned in 1978, is currently undergoing refit. Fire at about 2130 hours on 20 November, in the super structure of the ship was extinguished by the timely action of the Lagos State Fire Service, Nigerian Ports Authority and Julius Berger thus averting a major disaster.
