Bananas on the Beach:

Tons of green unripe bananas were seen on the beaches of the Wadden Sea islands of Terschelling and Ameland.

The bananas were washed ashore from a container which broke loose from the ship Duncan Island on 06/07 November 2007. At least six containers fell off from cargo ship Duncan Island due to rough seas. In a similar incident last year, the Wadden Sea beaches were covered with shoes.

OldSailor feels marine insurance must take care of such occasions.
