Confined spaces in the ships are dangerous to enter to carry out any work. The following hazards in confined spaces are to be noted:

  • No lighting or inadequate lighting
  • No ventilation, even toxic gases are expected
  • Easy access is not there
  • No communication facility is available
  • Can cause death if safety procedures are not followed
